Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The International Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing product positioning, product launches, marketing strategies, and uncovering opportunities to drive leads and enrollments for the Walden University. He/she will also be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day marketing activities for all product line(s) for the business to ensure revenue goals and budgets are met. This role requires a successful individual who is able to juggle multiple priorities and demands in order to achieve a positive outcome for the business entity. The demonstration of an ability to communicate interpersonally with a wide range of stakeholders and grasp differing viewpoints clearly and to articulate the information gleaned in a business strategy for Walden and will be an integral function of the role. This individual will be responsible for understanding the target markets and collaborating with cross-functional team members to develop an integrated strategic marketing plan designed to generate inquiries to meet growth goals. The qualified individual will have the proven ability to strategically identify and analyze key marketing opportunities in markets for products and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with various functional departments across the organization including product management, enrollment management and training, operations and academics to ensure successful marketing efforts for the University.
  • Provide timely and accurate communication to key stakeholders including but not limited to Academic leadership, Channel Marketing, Enrollment, Product Management, and External Sales to ensure awareness of and participation in all marketing initiatives.
  • Represent the college as a member of the product cross-functional team.
  • Respond to competitive and market trend analyses, ensuring that strategic decisions are data driven and inclusive of insight from the college's faculty and academic leadership team.
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing and communication plans with a multi-channel approach i.e.(Direct Mail, Online Advertising, Online Search, Website, Social Media, Word-of-Mouth, Tradeshows, Print Advertising).
  • Responsible for ensuring the business plans are executed and results are analyzed for future direction. Requires ability to understand and manage budgets and market research data implications and approaches.
  • Interface effectively with Enrollment Management, Product Development, and Academic leadership to collaborate on key messaging and strategies to achieve growth goals.
  • Identify and execute on unique messaging and product attributes. Lead cross-functional execution of all marketing plan initiatives. Identify issues; engage appropriate marketing team members as necessary. Initiate and lead course correction with their cross-functional team members when issues arise in achieving goals.
  • Track performance of marketing strategy through measurement and analysis of prospect leads, conversion, and retention to understand effectiveness and ROI. Report out to college leadership team, noting implications and initiate additional activities as necessary.
  • Ensure audience-marketing plans are synergistic with overall Walden University positioning and strategies.
  • Execute all activities in a timely and accurate manner including status reports informing key groups within the college and outside as appropriate/in collaboration, updates and marketing initiatives.
External Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5+ years marketing experience.
  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA strongly preferred.
  • Marketing experience in a B2C environment required. Brand management experience with a consumer packaged goods, service, education, publishing, or media company preferred.
  • Previous experience in the higher education industry is a plus but not required.
  • Co-Marketing, Advertising, direct or Web marketing experience required.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience with market research and competitive intelligence gathering methods.
  • Experience in developing marketing plans and tactics to drive lead generation and conversion activities.
  • Experience working with lead-generating marketing programs that include but not limited to online media, direct mail, telemarketing, seminars, trade shows, events and online campaigns.
  • Demonstrable experience in SEO, social media marketing, community-building, word-of-mouth marketing, and membership marketing highly preferred.
  • Highly skilled in planning, organizing, and project management.
  • Must be capable of multi-tasking in a fast paced environment
  • Experience in interpreting and utilizing market research and business analytics.
  • Able to obtain an in-depth understanding of the company business plans, strategies, and processes. Must possess a clear understanding of key functions, dynamics and developments in domestic business.
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytic, critical thinking, and information synthesis skills. Strong organizational, prioritization and time management abilities. Must have experience developing and managing a budget and understanding financial implications of marketing programs.
  • A strong leader in the areas of managing and executing marketing programs and tactics. Experience managing strategic projects, ability to understand big picture.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills. Strong presentation skills and ability to lead and facilitate meetings.
  • Strong relationship building skills. A good listener, collaborator, and influencer. High level of enthusiasm, functions well in a team-driven and highly dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in thinking strategically with respect to partnership opportunities for the college.
  • Proficient with intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.
