We?re knee deep in a few home remodeling / improvement projects here at Two Frog Home.? It might not be typical December behavior, but Jeff and I don?t seem to be typical most of the time anyway.? What has been typical, however; is that nothing has gone as smoothly or easily as we?d hoped.? That seems par for the construction course for us and many folks we know.? We?re not letting it get us down, despite weeks of unfinished projects.
We special ordered exactly the amount of rock we needed for this rock wall only to get shorted about 2 feet meaning that entire project was halted as we worked with the store and supplier to get more material shipped to us (thankfully everyone made it easy and we did get more material free of charge).? The project is nearly done now with just some grouting left to do.? A mantle was added too and it looks awesome, completed photos later.
We also need to replace our water heater.? The old one has been giving us warning signals that it?s about to die.? Jeff did a ton of research finding an energy efficient model that is easy to clean/flush, can handle our very hard water, and fits into a rather snug spot.? Of course, no one locally sells it and it too had to be special ordered.? It?s here now and will be installed in the next week.? Again, it may not be the typical holiday celebration but for us, every day is a celebration and truly there?s no better way to do that than to make our home more homey.
